standing on a shadow's lace

Unbroken

again the seasons change
under foot the ground is different
outside next to the back door
a brown clay pot sits silently
amazingly tender purple pink petals
from a leafless stick standing neglected
life still remains…unbroken

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

Dear poetess, you see beyond the obvious. Each vision is a treasure to behold.

An impressionable vignette.

Though it's still a long time until spring, your words bring its hope... we'll bloom again if we can only be as resilient as that stick. *S* Beautiful work!!

Wonderful, how you noticed this and how you shared it.
Just yesterday I marveled at a rose blooming (smaller than in Summer, but still!) in midst of dry leaves ...

Love,

Very pretty indeed, bittersweet. ~ I loved this Helen, you mixed themes together well.

Always a pleasure to read your stuff, always leaves me with questions unanswered, but expecting to know the answer later on in life.

Very beautiful autumn vignette you have captured here, Helen. Perfectly crafted and poignant in feeling.
