thoughtful wines, warm wines,
we spell Napa Valley with our idleness,
enologist for one drunk road
we mainly taste the will of wines,
deep wines, social glasses,
this transparency is for everyone,
lees of emptyness, fragile just the way
humans are, we buy a bottle
and drive back to San Francisco.

"Vintage" piece of work, Yann.  Very nicely put:  succinct, tart, with just a hint of earthiness.  Excellent clarity, with a delightful nose:  it should age well.

Cheers
Jim

this transparency is for everyone,

If wine can claim a part in gaining transparency, then I might want to have a sip too ...

Vineyards have a special charm and I think the valley enjoyed the French visitors and their appreciation.

Enjoyed your words greatly, dear Yann.

Love,
Margherita

I like the metaphor in this piece. I feel the fear, sorrow, anger, and the fragility of the writer. Don't be in a hurry to cover up those feelings, they will certainly reveal their profound secrets. Peace - Ron

Thanks Margherita, this is an important verse to my eyes too, the beginning of wisdom and love, you underlined it with such accuracy..I like to slip philosophical meanings in day by day life travels.
