I've always been good at hurting men- the reasons or methods, I have no clue; angels and demons, I dated a few... met Jesus and even hurt Him too. I left a trail of men behind me like I had a hole in my pocket, I ran past too fast to clock it 'cause it was too scary to walk it. Still, I was never with a man whom I didn't care for or love, but that darned hole in my trust made staying hard to think of. Like a saturnine apparition, I float through walls into other places, landing in the middle of sentences, trying to forget the faces and all the nests from which I flew... from all the men who hurt me too. |

Always when we settle down to tea and scones; along comes the magician to whip away the tablecloth. The plates, the cups and the saucers are unmoved, but we know something is missing, and so we set another table. |

Dixie, I think this might be my favorite of your poems - hard to say. I have had so many favorites of yours. These are the poems I have missed. Alison |

Yes, the last sentence puts things into balance, dear Dixie. They hurt you too. Very strong write. It's no good to preach, mothers especially seem to know where their daughters fail, but it is not enough, each and everyone of us needs to go through the experience or ... experiences on her own. It is a learning process. Great job, Dixie! Love, Margherita |
