At truck stops every night, watching 18-wheelers back into their parking spaces, truck drivers worn out and exhausted, I see the broken on their faces.
They come and go and all look the same, hundreds of brothers yet truly alone, some know some others by name, all they really want is home.
But now and then, there's beauty of life, tiny bits of happy in the middle of sad-
the days roll on hard and slow, but it's one of the best times I've had.
There we are. On the road.

I read the other poem you've posted and said to myself: 'A bit too intellectual for me' Then I saw this one and thought: 'Why not give this one a try??' This piece is very good. I felt your heart in this one. I felt the tired, and the 'bit happy' amongst the 'sad'. Good work. Keep exploring the structure and mood of this piece, it will undoubtedly take you to that place where the true poet is hiding Kosmic888'we are all connected by strings of light'

I am glad that you are doing this together - and I bet a lot more beauty is seen with you to notice it.

If you ever get close to Houston, give me a call... trucks often park on the street next to my apartment... and you can have a real bed! *S*

Passing Shadows: Nice tribute to a group that often gets bad press. Good selection of photos to go with this piece. Thank you for a good read. Jim"We are stardust: we are golden: and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden." --Joni Mitchell "Woodstock"
