I didn't believe
when they told me
that the line was thin
The one between love and hate

But it is

If it wasn't for tit and tat
then we'd never share

I do
You don't
I won't
You will

Never meet in the middle
Never compromise
Just push
and pull

You don't listen
I don't talk
You don't care
then I don't I care

On and on
and on...

If we couldn't go to bed angry
then we'd never sleep again

Closer and closer to that line
they said was so thin
It's all I see now

No more loving glances
No more good-bye kisses
No more yelling
No more shouting

Only that line

And so the last thing that we'll do together
Is cross it

**Inspired by the Persuaders**

If I don't say it...who will?

That sounds horrible. :O

I'm too easygoing for most gals, I brush most things off and laugh when people get mad at me. :-/

Paul - what can I say...blame it on Motown. Stirs me up every time.

Thankfully, the everyday me is so very cool that EVERYBODY loves me ;0)

Sometimes, it really is time to "hit the road, Jack!" *S* I'm glad this is musically inspired and not your existence! *S*

Nice work, MorningStar.  Compelling and tragic, this work describes life for so many couples I have known.  A memorable write, cleverly crafted.  Thank you.

Tommy738 - I'm so sorry for your pain.  Don't forget every night ends with dawn.

Jim - I thank you kindly sir!  I've seen it myself, sad and tragic are apt descriptions.

If I don't say it...who will?
