~ Twilight reflections ~ The hills slip over each other Until their shifting shadows die In pink and skyward shudders As light turns solemn in twilit sky While of these hills the western-most In changing waste of gold-rose brine Rears high above the mid summer coast And fading olive hyaline Till all the distance overflows And meadows recede into violet-blue Then pink and mauve. To fuse and close A darkling purple fringed anew With colours that on hill tops soar Kindling the summits as they grow A dusky flame on tranquil shore The pathos of the afterglow In audience to the skies that call Ineffable in rest and all...... |

beautiful couplet in the ending, but I found this genuinely lovely as well... "With colours that on hill tops soar Kindling the summits as they grow A dusky flame on tranquil shore The pathos of the afterglow" |

This, is incredible writing: With colours that on hill tops soar Kindling the summits as they grow A dusky flame on tranquil shore The pathos of the afterglow I especially dig the last line there. Amazing. |

I left you a message on Carpe' Diem and who knows perhaps one day in the next few years, you can show me this view? I have always wanted to go to Scotland and find my roots there. Lovely poem. |
