To live or die,
what do you deserve?
Cast away to nothing,
left to die
without reason
without cause
I couldn't sympathize
exiled, alone
and still you're standing
gratitude where anger should be
courage where fear should reside
graceful without self-pity
shattered but not broken
the world is cruel
but you take it all
gallantly
you appreciate life
the good - the bad
through it all you remain
tenacious, composed
you're better than me
you've chosen to live
and I envy you
The Lonely Stray.

I Thought of You Today,
And What We Could've Had
For A Brief Moment I Had You
And Still, I Somehow Knew
I'd Have To Let Go

A powerful write, one that reveals much about both the writer and the resilient 'Stray'
I think you are stronger than you give yourself credit for in this poem, Katrina.
