The western sky reflects the sea,
The freshening breezes blow…
Behind there’s naught to hinder me,
A yondering I will go.

No bonds to hold me on the land-
I, like the albatross…
Shall spread my canvas wings and flee
My past an unmissed loss.

No goal to which my bow I point-
I seek no golden fleece…
I merely long for time alone,
My sole reward is peace.

The flow to this is wonderful as always, Gunslinger. I very much enjoy your work, and the excellent phrasing, imagery and cadence you weave together. Well done, loved the idea of some peaceful time away by oneself. Much enjoyed this.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Ditto to Kit's comment.
You have a real talent!
I tell ya, gunslinger, I think you gots a pasel of the wonderlust in your loins, there.
You need beaver country, where nary a man has set foot, a place of tall grasses and big bears.
There's no ranch work to hold you back and no woman can tie you down. Though they do seek you, don't they?

Very nicely put, Slinger.  This time of year always gives me itchy feet, and this work of yours says it all:  a perfect little tribute to wanderlust.

I really enjoyed reading your poem. I thought that the flow (I use this word because I am still polishing up on technical words like meter) matched the feelings coming forth.
