             Limmerance

Just beyond the trembling dawn
when the healing midnight urn,
once brim-full of gentle darkness,
stands empty ... and sad truths are
   awakened
by the light of cold indifference,
our finest illusions surrender
in the face of all that is forever lost
to those worlds of 'what was' and
   'can never be' …

where does the limmerance go?

You have such flow in your writing - it's like reading words from a stream.

"by the light of cold indifference,
our finest illusions surrender"

~ somber, sad, stark, sobering ~ and made me shiver. Your poetry gets a rise out of me regardless of the mood or the subject matter. You are quite a writer, Poet Bruce.

Missed you!

Linda
