I stood on the edge of the road
Ready to step out and end it all
But then I heard your voice in my head
I heard your soft loving call

You asked me to stop and think
And then not be so ruthless
I stepped back from myself
And let go of all the sadness

All the pain seemed to fade away
When I listened to my heart
Now I’m glad you made me stop
What I made the choice to start

Life is not as bad now
I’m happy where I am
I no longer feel as low
As I did on that long ago day

   We all have our days, some more often then others. It is good to have such a friend when it counts the most!
