Inviting my detestation You’re hell bent on procreation This region seems to be haunted By your presence - you’re not wanted! Some places get beautiful leaves Not conjoined bugs upon their sleeves And cool crisp days must have such charm If not filled with amorous swarms Each time I step outside my door You’re in my face and I abhor The mess you make on my poor car Even if I do not drive far! Incessant splat on my windshield Bug suicide, refused to yield Seems some life cycles never change You mate – humans become deranged! |

'They' say that the Love Bug provides nothing to nature, is not prey or predator to anything. Only here to annoy humans. Little jerks. Should be called Hate Bugs. |

"Bug suicide" ~ Oh, how tragic! Sorry, I'm in one of my silly moods again! Well, at least those bug make love and not war! We used to have occasional infestations of mayflies and tent caterpillers . However, I haven't recalled any for years. Egads! The tent caterpillers really creeped me out! They'd fall on my head from trees, eavestroughs etc. Yuk! Don't let the love bugs bite! lol Linda [This message has been edited by Earth Angel (09-29-2009 06:47 PM).] |

I know I would be freaking out, but at least they don't sting? Too busy mating! Lol at Linda's reply. There must be a reason for their presence! Well, Balladeer finds beauty in them. It's really always a matter of how we look at things ... and living things. I do understand, dear Ruth, you expressed your repulsion so well! Love, Margherita |

RDB: Yes... and CG's right... they're misnamed (except for Bal *G*)! LOL Thank you! *S* PS: I'm so glad you liked... thank you! *S* EA: They make... more bugs! LOL And we have mayflies and tentworm caterpillars, too... and ants, mosquitos, roaches... you name it, we're far too "blessed" with insects! LOL Thank you! Margherita: Bal likes the money he makes getting rid of them... can't blame him for that. *S* Thank you! *S* Lindsay: Once past butterflies and ladybugs, I'm shuddering. LOL Thank you! *S* DS: Picking them off my clothes is bad enough... I think I'll pass on picking them out of my teeth! LOL But maybe another time, another season? *S* Thank you! *S* Bill: During the height of the swarms, every service station stays busy... people may not be buying gas, but they have to stop to clean their windshields! *S* Thank you! *S* |
