Back then When we were kids Just spendin’ hours thinkin’, Takin’ in blessed moments Under our brows - Inspectin’ everything, Our lives were light And our hope was An ode to inspiration, And ‘Beauty’, unknown And unshaped, Was just a word Mum Would utter at her Tiny rose bushes Our light was so bright And we were so right. Life was ne’er hard before We gave it away To the trials and rain Clouds overhead Even when Dad left, Mum knew somethin’ better, That those rose bushes Would come bloomin’ again |

Ah, son it's the inspiration of the muses that you are havin'. In the second line I would take out the word "were" and put in the word "was". That's just me. It's a bit of fine poem that you have written. I think Yeats would be proud of your efforts. So you big hearted, two fisted, tura lura. I'll be seein' down at the pub for a bit of a pint when the soccer match starts. This is a really nice poem!!! |
