A death heads' rictus grin
fierce eyes in fiery glow
Autumnal winds to blow
a smould'ring breath within
ol' Jack and all his kin
'tis Halloween , you know.

Guard close your doors this night
vast minions scour the land.
The brave must make a stand
'gainst ghouls lit by porch light
who've come as is their right
to pillage out of hand.

Prepare yourself, my sweet...
they've come for Trick or Treat!

Brneyedgrly,
Thanks. I usually try to write one Halloween
themed poem a year. This format seemed to lend itself well. See ya back in class.

Balladeer,
Thank you kind sir. If I listen close I can almost hear Vincent Price reading this one, lol.

Thank you, the kinetics of this site are such that we often inspire each other, just one of the things that makes Rons' place a little different.
Doc

Elizabeth,
Thank you. You know I've always admired your writing ability, and I must confess, while I'm skulking around here behind the scenes I still drop in on certain poets to
see some of their latest. You never dissapoint.
