Well young man
The music
May pump you up

To think
Of course
You’re bullet proof
Until the day
You’re hit

Then missing
A piece of face
Leg or arm
Or just perhaps
Another limb
As might not
Know what’s next

Especially that
Beyond a certain point
Regardless of arrogance
And doctors’ certificates

There is
No coming back
