So mum I have a question I'm not sure you want to hear But I need to know the answer And please let it be sincere I used to believe your tales But now they’re growing sheer At first I blamed myself Maybe I wasn’t being clear? But then I’d rephrase the question In attempt to break your frontier But you’d just rearrange the lie In hope I wouldn’t persevere So mum now I’ll ask the question Please don’t be burdened by your fear But is it true that my real father Is not the same man who’s standing here? Inside this exterior, over which the eye might have roved there was the record of a pulsing life, which had learnt too well for its years – Thomas Har |

What a impression this leaves on my heart! How many people do not know their roots? I knew of mine, but from a distance. I recall the questions I had vividly. It's such a hard question for a parent to face when it's been shelved for the life of a child. How necessary to be as honest as possible...and remain protective, too, sometimes. ~KL |
