Her beautiful symmetry drew him in The only chemistry we had was to just be friends But how could i compete with such a beautiful face her strands of night put me in my place i ran so far, but she won the race Thinking back on all the feelings i had the way he was still makes me mad he was beautiful from what i could see and he thought no less of me so why did our love stop short of perfection? why do i see tears staining my complexion? So smile in daytime, cry by night til my memories fade and his smile isn't as bright. toss away the pictures, burn up the pieces unfold the old poems, tear along the creases His beautiful symmetry drew me in my tears now run down past my chin i wonder if our time still makes his head swim or if his new love has taken all of him, all at once, or limb by limb? was it planned out, or just on a whim? i hope his light never starts to dim. A sad, but lovely poem. I really liked it! “All bad poetry springs from genuine feeling.”--Oscar Wilde |
