They all lie To our youth To our next generation They think it’s for the best And it is. They say The good guys always win The bad guys take the fall They say It’s not what you look like It’s what is inside that counts. They say If treat someone How you want to be treated You will be treated that way They say Good things happen To good people They say If you work hard You will be rewarded They say Money doesn’t buy money They aren’t happy Well, The good guys have fallen, The bad guys are winning. If you’re ugly and nice, People think you’re ugly. If you treat someone nice, They’ll stab you in the back. Bad things, Happen to good people. If you work hard, You will be punished. Money buys things, Like food and a roof, So yes it makes you happy. They lie to the youth for a reason If they knew the truth They wouldn’t Have their youth Properly They would cry for the fallen Instead of swinging on a swing set They would have nightmares Instead of dreams They would never be truly happy Because Without Childhood There Is Barely Any Happiness |

I understood what you meant, Madelyn. I say those same things to myself often, even though I am not a teenager. "They would cry for the fallen Instead of swinging on a swing set" ~~ I love how you wrote this. There are some things we cannot control so we have to do the best we can for ourselves to have a happy life. M |
