Here I am Against the sky, With a hand waving bye To the sun. Have I made it through this day, Already? I'm still whole, No sight of blood, But there's tears in the mud That the rain has created. The sky, black, Rain rushes down, once again But here I stay. Here I am Against the shadows, Arms crossed, They shiver. Still I'm whole No missing fingers or toes, But I can't find My compact mirror. I can't see who I've become, So have I made it through this day, Or have I failed? I lay my back Against the weeping sky, Allowing the hail To throw its punches, But I can take it! The hardest part about writing poetry, is trying not to write like everyone else. |

I really like this. It reminds me of someone, who I think needs to read this. But yeah. The first stanza was my favorite. ![]() ![]() -Zach |
