I can never say I’m sorry In a way my soul will hear So I will say I love you To stave away the fear You will never read this poem I’ll keep it from you dear I’ll say I’m sorry one more time Then shield your precious ear For apologies will never do To express my love for you Nor a prayer deep in the night Be enough to keep from fright Be with me my God As I speak today Give me peace within my soul And the words that I must say Listen here my stubborn heart You will do as you are told Keep those floodgates open a crack I’m much too young to feel so old The marches are no longer wet My love for them is drying But there’s a roaring river And to hold it back I’m trying Oh God bless the river bed And send it back to you I never wanted a secret Nor a course that was untrue So I will never say I’m sorry In a way my soul will hear I can only say I love you To stave away the fear To fly is to fall and miss the sidewalk |

"Listen here my stubborn heart You will do as you are told Keep those floodgates open a crack I’m much too young to feel so old" I especially enjoyed the above...and there is more importance in saying I love you than some think. M |
