I don't know if this will make any sense to you but here it is, Life is as blue as a question mark, And as rough as chocolate pudding. The problems bombarding my brain Are as common as grass, They make me pray like wet dogs, And shake like howling wolves. My mind is as nervous as jell-o, And as perky as a plump pig Begging to be shot. I'm as eager as acne And sure as a squirrel, That my life will always be, As blue as a question mark. Oh my Christine, Bob will be in FV heaven when he reads this. You clearly "get" it. You are starting to think "out-of-the-box" now, mixing your sensory poetic data up nicely and coming up with some original and interesting images in the form of a simile list poem. Great fun (apart maybe from the poor pig). "As eager as acne" ! I bet no-one wrote that before. Does it make "sense"? Humm, I don't think this is a question you should need, or even want, to ask about contemporary poems. Does it speak to the senses? YES! Well done. |
