You are like a needle Piercing my heart Just like a knife It rips apart My mind tells me That this is enough It's not worth Being this tough My heart is saying Please stay But I sit in misery Every day Sliding into A pit of despair Trying to block it out Without seeming to care I pretend to be fine With my shattered heart In its place Debris that been blown apart Left with nothing But an empty space I live with a blank stare On my face My emotions Cast aside Like a boat Lost in the tide The suns rays Shining brightly On this frozen heart That's guarded tightly |

Your poem has the appearance of a candlestick, reminding me that a lighted candle is a better source of warmth than the sun for an aching heart. One ladle serves the soup that feeds the mouths of the many. |
