This poem is not truly about ending your own life. It is about being so confused with so many people telling you that you'll never be something. It is about how I felt when I thought every one had turned their back on me. It is mostly about giving up and feeling as though you have lost the battle. This is dedicated to my cat.  On the brink of eternity I waited Thinking Forever I will stay I was so close to the edge I could smell death It consumed me Knowing nothing could pull me back I prepared to jump I wanted so badly To just disappear From the scorn Torment And worst of all Disappointment I waited for something Anything To pull me back I started sinking Too deep I couldn’t raise my head Above the black water I knew I could Be strong enough To swim To back away But the strength Avoided me I thought nothing could ever Help me Save me I knew that this was the end A cynical game life A psychological problem Without a cure I knew that I was being stupid Hasty But I couldn’t bring myself to wait One more gruelling day Filled with pain Of all people looking at me Thinking “What’s wrong with her?” That’s when he came To the rescue My knight in shining armour My life jacket My something to hold I knew he was the one for me For he knows only unconditional love And instinct He never judges He never lies As long as he gets lots of Attention And Food He will sit on my lap and purr I need no more stupid pills I need no more alcohol I need no more quick fixes That only make the problem worse I only need him My darling cat Who saved my life So many times And now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep. And if I die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take. |

great poem your cat is an amazing animal whether he knows it or not. its good to have an inspiration like that. |
