~Metamorphosis~ A butterfly in a box With holes punched for air Lives days in despair As a prisoner of war With holes punched in heart It's put on display And the cell shakes and sways If it doesn't perform Someday I'll fly far, far away From misery and hate Someday I'll fly but now I wait For the lid to be removed When they finally remember I am here And the box is filled with light Free at last I'll take my flight I'll spread my rainbow wings A butterfly in a box With holes punched for air Lives each day in prayer For Flight |
