It trudged along the watery slope, So confident and gay I stared at it with a soothing smile Not knowing that it may get strayed The heavens have been drizzling for long The sweet sway makes me forlorn The streams of water trickling down- Creating hurdles in its lane Still it trudged so confidently, Towards the glass- Which once satisfied my belly The intricate designs and charming lily Are now killing me, so cruelly I raised my hand to stop it from- Going near- As the glass was strong And I knew it better than all Now experiencing its strength The world now seems so pale to me. And I tried to distract it But all my efforts were in vain And I got a company again The friends who were once so good I never knew, they would make me fool Those paper notes, which I threw- Into the darkness of life and death. |

Welcome to Passions in Poetry, dear Dishari! You choose Dark Poetry to post your first offering and indeed your poem is very sad. It is very well written. I have read it three times, it is intriguing and yet "it" remains a little cryptic. Regarding your thoughts about "friends" it is a very painful experience when we discover that they are not sincere. Looking forward to read more of you. Margherita |

Great dark verse, well played! "The streams of water trickling down- Creating hurdles in its lane" ~Astounding power here! I can see a tender rain drop, slidin' slowly down the pane/(pain) of window glass. Excellent image! Warm Welcome, DC! ~d "..But a tyrant spell has bound me, And I cannot, cannot go.." ~Emily Bronte 'The Night is Darkening Around Me' [This message has been edited by devina (06-08-2015 02:34 PM).] |
