I gave my soul to you
But my heart is not
with you.-
I talk to you
But my mind is not
With you.-
When I get dreams
In my sleep
It’s not
About you
It’s not
With you.-
When you come close
To me
I feel like moving
Away.-
When I look at you
I’m not looking at you
But someone else.-
When I hear your voice
I don’t hear your voice
But instead
Someone else’s.-
When I look into your eyes
I don’t see
Myself
And I don’t see
You
But instead I see
Someone else.-
When you smile at me
And I smile back
I’m not smiling
At you
Instead I’m thinking
Of someone else
And smiling.-
When you touch me
I don’t feel that
Electric pulse
Through my body.-
You are not that person
That my heart
Yens for.-
You are not that person
That my heart
Cries for.-
You are not that person
That my heart
Is amorous to.-
You are not that person
That my heart
Is devoted to.-
You are not that person
That my heart
Palpitates for.-
You are not that person
That my heart
Is restless for.-
You are…..not that…..person?
You…..are…..not!
You…..just aren’t!?-
What…..should I…..do?
What…..can I…..do?-
I feel so penitent
And guilty
That I have betrayed
And deceived you.
I’m sorry that my heart
Doesn’t love you.-
Even though I have
Given my soul to you
Even though I have
Sacrificed myself
My heart wasn’t
With you
My heart isn’t
With you
My heart couldn’t be
With you
And it will never be
With you
Because…..my heart…..
Loves someone else.
