I scream and I shout, swearing at you to get out. Tearing plates off the wall, I beg you with hateful eyes to finally fall. But with head held high and hands caring you laugh at me with my words daring you to get mad, get violent, but you-- you only smile with resent. The calm manner in which you follow me just fuels my fury. Tears filling up my eyes; I glare out at you and your understanding lies that tell me I'm okay, that you'll forgive me for anything I say. All I want is a reaction-- a rise-- a crack in your god d*mn perfect disguise so I don't have to feel like a monster for hurting you the way I always do. All I want is a reason-- an exuse-- but I know you don't deserve this type of abuse that I put you through. But smiling and kind you give me no mistake to find; making me despise you all that much more for every perfect thing you somehow manage to do. |

Wowzers! I can see you in every word! Sometimes (especially at that magical time of month) I cast out lines like that! Well said! It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them. |

I grew up and was part of that for 20 years with parents either starting to fight, in the middle of a fight, finishing a fight, or very briefely between fights. When I got married the wife began the same sequence lasting 14 years. Both episodes diminished my health. |
