The pristine coffins are lined up against the wall
Ready to be filled with some sad, unfortunate tale
Of a life cut short by hunger, or a drunken brawl
Or maybe one that has completed life's rich trail.

The artist who created these wooden tombs
Looks sorrowfully upon one completed casket
As he knows too well the time mercilessly looms
For his daily bread to fall into the empty basket.

This skillful man has a wife and family to feed
With a daily emotional attachment he finds compelling
As his compassionate heart doth constantly bleed
When the poor bereaved enter his humble dwelling.

Ah, The coffin maker, we never stop to think of him. It must be a tough job - considering the events his "art" tailors to.
Well written.

There are places in the heart that do not yet exist; suffering has to enter in for them to come to be - LeonBloy
