This is my first post, so I'd like to greet you all warmly and say that I welcome any comments.

An Angel Walks the Stone Halls of Death

Alone I sit encased in ice upon a throne of skulls
In this narrow hall let no joyful voice be heard

Inside my glacial tomb the flame of my heart grows dim
I hear the soothing siren song of death calling my name

But I am paralysed with cold and weighed down with grief
I have long forsaken escaping the dreadful work of my own hands

Softly the gentle ring of footsteps echoes in the distance
Who dares enter my barrow? Who dares profane the silence of my hall?

I close my eyes secure in the knowledge that all portals are sealed
Sealed by the cold black ice seeping from my wounds

Amidst a flurry of opalescent wings an angel appears before me
A blazing seraph of radiant light carrying a crimson lance

The pure white fires of her blessed life melt the terrible ice
And I am left stricken naked and breathless as I struggle to stand

Softly the angel smiles and plunges the crimson lance into my chest
A single rivulet of heart's blood trickle's from the wound

I fall limply into the arms of the blessed one
Is this the coming end? Or perhaps the embrace of salvation

On the seashore I espy the dreadful void under the tides

Amazing. Truely amazing.

She past you, but doesn't notice you.
Drained from emotion
she waits till death grasps her.
She faces it with no fear but rather welcomes it.
