smoker's voice trembling profanity deaf to the satisfaction of young running feet slamming the rain-soaked ground her underlying fear rhythym snagged by the wind false labels drive her further away than apathy ever could bitterness lurking on the fringe of their thoughts tastes like pride-drunk blood and expression of lust two lives broken by disallusionment and secrets that a poker face doesn't disclose she is the dream his inner child aspires to be whenever he grows up. |
