It’s what they say is the best cure For that wound left by the loss you’ve had to endure But no matter how much time is taken To heal the wound, you can’t help but feel forsaken No word can explain how it truly feels To suffer a loss, family or otherwise It makes you realize that it’s all too real That feel of dread, knowing they can no longer hear your cries A scabbed wound, one small impact and it bleeds anew Once again fresh, what in the world will you do But cover it, and hope that time will pull through But the wound is immune, and it seems everything will crash on you The memories are vivid to the point of bitter sweetness It seems they will tear away at your every weakness Can’t help but ask yourself how will I ever beat this, And what could ever pry me from such sweet bliss? That wound becomes a scar, a reminder to spark wonder Of how something like that could ever be sundered No matter how much it fades, it will always be there The pain will lessen, not from time but from care What can cure the loss of a loved one, if not time? Love and care, in all their intangible prime |
