The Pain and its Face

Pretensions and deceit
Seem to be my protectors now.
Lying to myself as
I construct the hours of another day.

My demons are calmer now
And its been awhile
Since I have had to beat them
Away from the door.

Does time bring wisdom to me
And thus blissful peace or just a
Thicker calloused apathy
That only serves to shield
And not heal my fears.

I believe I am a better man
But what purpose does that really serve,
Who does it really benefit when
I never unchain my heart.

A path is never found
Until you understand why you walk.

She past you, but doesn't notice you.
Drained from emotion
she waits till death grasps her.
She faces it with no fear but rather welcomes it.
