(8th April 2009)

The rain has passed
Retreating out to sea
Withdrawing
Until the clouds are flat beneath
Yet billow high overhead

Sitting on the rocky cliffs
Waiting for the tide
I pick at the rock beneath me
As tears flow from my eyes
My feet resting on nothing

Weeping into a stream of brackish water
Yet fresh from the recent rain
My sorrow is carried to the horizon
Occasionally
Salt water crashes beneath
And my feet are wet with salty flecks
The sea mourns ‘longside me

Events flood like the rising tide
Thoughts rip through my mind
Broken promises not mine to claim
Lie as shattered as my heart
Yet as I watch the storm retreat
I don’t want to swim

The sun peeks from behind the grey
Infecting the sky with colour
I can breath now
My soul has stopped shaking
But my head never empties
Yet turns inwards and quivers

Sorrow voided from my face
Like the setting sun
Hiding from the world
Similar
It will always be there
Long will it live
Hopefully it won’t bring apocalypse
Not my sorrow

Airy pockets
Coins jangle as I stand
One is thrown into the waves
A wish for better days
A wish for love’s return
A wish for realisation
A wish for wishing’s sake.

The rocks where I sat
Will be washed with the tide
Sweeping away all sign of my presence
Would that my pain
Swallowed with my tears
Would vanish with the guidance of Selene
Swept out to sea
Following the storm

Life is pretty bouncy sometimes.
Still, the storm was nice, pity there was no lightning.
Bare with me, I've yet to edit and punctuate it.

Very nice. I love the imagery, theme and delivery of this piece. A very nice read indeed.
