Somehow... she stood steady, by my side. When I thought to run and hide... she fought the fear inside. And led me... safely to the end ; And there, she would pretend that the victory was mine. I'd turn around to find... her walking close behind. But... deep inside I knew... it was her that got me through. Her eyes... that kept our dreams in sight. Her faith... that gave me strength to fight. Her breath... that seems to give me life. God, what would I do without my wife? Out of her love... she took my heart and kept it warm. Took my love and gave it form. Unto us a child was born. My head... rest upon her breast... listening to MY heart... beat within her chest. *** |
