How the mind does ping pong
in 24 hours time
from love's fancy
to shameless doubt

life fate
destiny
consecrates
the stepping stones of a new path

Sherlock would say
the simplest answer
must be the truth
as Watson raises a careful brow

dreams die as quickly
as they are created
and just as fast
resurrected

the ying and the yang
we sing, we sang
to the swing of life's tune
on the balance of liberty
