Venue of Inner Truths

The prod and poke of life’s jagged edge evokes my warrior spirit
To release the pounding river from it’s cavernous, crimson well
Hardened into the hammer of my mind, fury of my hands
Rising sledge to change the landscape into smoother sands

It is then my heart seeks you out, in forces stronger
In their soft tones of warmed, brown earth linger
And my need to fight in righteous honor yields
To the elemental rain of love that shapes my body
And culls my voice into waves of gentle reflection
Humble, content and everlasting

For what I cannot sculpt of rock and ledge
Shape in passions honor, or defeat
I can carry further, rising up to the shores
Lifting to heaven what is open pours
Pure and good, by venue of inner truths

Fine and powerful images here…such as:

‘warrior spirits’ evoked by “the prod and poke of life’s jagged edge”

and, I am quite fond of:

“It is then my heart seeks you out, in forces stronger

[particularly that “elemental rain of love” !]

Interesting title as well.
