Like anyone
that spends too much time
being touched,
handled,
and manipulated,
Bones like his times of peace,
quiet,
and being alone.

Such places are rare
in his part of the city.

He could go to the church,
but there’s always the chance
the priest,
or someone else
might come by,
and ask how he is doing.

That would break the spell.

No,
the best place to go for that
is to sneak into the graveyard at night.

There, he can sit and think.

No one is going to bother him
there amongst the peaceful dead.

Everyone one there
minds their own business.

Bobby

I feel the second-most closest to Bones in this poem.  I so understand how he feels here.  (The closest, of course, is when he is around Flicka.)

No hugs to Bones, right now, as that is not what he wants, but non-intrusive, warm wishes from the sidelines.

Thanks dear Kanashe,

My dog takes me out for a walk around the hood three times a day.

Walking is good for every part of you.

Very clear! Very precise! It's something I can personally relate to and it's written with a perfect simplicity!

Kickass, dear friend. To the end. As always.

Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand.

Even if a kindred spirit shows up, they are not likely to ask any questions.

Bobby, keep on walking the dog, btw what's his/her name?

Thanks Chopsticks,

Questions are usually not a good thing.

It's a her dog, and her name is "Hilda".  She's a German Shorthaired Pointer.
