There was no kite so colourful as dipped and swerved through urgent skies in sighs that dashed away the rising clouds from the heated tears of ecstasy. No string bound body this, no ribbon tails hung. Clung, the wide-eyed following Of the gravity bound, To the cupped air in Icarian silk. He brought his gift to those who worshipped those who fly, and floated his fall like the archangel Michael upon the innocent ground in sun-baked bliss. Oh to fly And melt Like this. |

It matters doesn't it--what we write, what we have to say, even to our responses. I thank you from the botton of my heart for your ever thoughtful comments. hugz, Lynda |

Almost everything makes me think you are talking about an avian kite whom you compare to Icarus, except the fall and the melt, which makes me think that you are, in fact talking about Icarus. Either way, I am soaring and dipping and melting in clean, blue air. - Owl |

Hi Kin, Yes in one... Someone asked me what would be my superpower of choice and I responded...'to fly'. That lit my imagination and stirred memories of legends to result in this recipe of high flying floss. Throw in a half cup of passion and bake... well, melt at least..hehe... |

~ A 'silk'en descent compared to that of Icarus when his wax wings melted and he plumeted to the ground. This was a classy, classic poem! ~ A graceful penning. Love 'n hugs, Linda |

Thank you so much Linda and Karilea, What a lift it is when people appreciate your scratches and pennings. When I read really good poetry, it sends me to my laptop to shake my head and wonder at how much there is to learn, how far yet to go. Encouragement like yours gives these wings loft! thank you.. it means a lot. Lynda |
