Heart Wind Throw the window wide upon a tumultuous mix of uncertain shadows, summer scents, moonbeams, and nameless sorrows, swirling in a warm, wild wind that hints of unborn destinies, and those standing spent and unfulfilled, against time’s tide of fleeting hours, dwindling days, and waning years… where life is passing as a dream with a thousand tiny boats, bearing broken hearts. --- b. e. adams (7/8/08) [This message has been edited by secondhanddreampoet (07-08-2008 08:53 PM).] |

Each line is a pearl from your poetic pen. The closing lines were especially moving ~ and uniquely expressed. "where life is passing as a dream with a thousand tiny boats, bearing broken hearts." Bruce, you truly are a gifted poet. Linda |

This poem, addressing the swirl of existential vertigo that is life, makes an interesting partnership with Certainties. Velazquez, Court Painter to Spain's Philip V in 1648, was commissioned to paint Pope Innocent X. To warm up for that work, he painted his assistant, Juan de Pareja. The Pareja, a study for painting students, hangs in the Met in NYC, judged by history not second to Velazquez's Pope Innocent X, but forever tied by history to it. So too, Heart Wind, which might appear a prelude to Certainties, compares strongly with it. I admire the synergy, energy, insights, motion and expression of both poems. |

I am delighted to see this one again, to feel the effects of a 'heart wind' that refreshes the spirit! I do not find it the least bit sad. |
