Oak has a memory measured in units of quiet brushed from nursing home walls. remembered will be the longing for her hardwood chair and everyday the riverside willow calls her to it. Silence has weight and descends at the speed of white becoming grey in a fog. There she sits among pictures of strangers and tending rosary beads. She is not Catholic. I absolutely LOVE this, Skaadee, in all its nuances and whispers! This is my kind of poem. I haven't read any of your poetry before, never seen your name, but I most certainly will look out for more! - Owl |
