Forget The Vet “Let’s go for a ride!” you said, what a clever guy you were Tricking your ole buddy just because he’s wearing fur Gullibly I went along, thinking we would have some fun But in the parking lot I knew exactly what you’d done You got me to the vet’s office by promising a ride But you are nuts if you think you are taking me inside Even if you pull my leash with all your strength and might You won’t get me inside there, without an awful fight Don’t think that I’ve forgotten, what goes on in here my friend And how last time I got a needle stuck in my rear end I’m not sure what “neuter” means but it don’t sound real good I only hope this doorframe’s made of strong and solid wood You are going to pay for this, I will not soon forget How treacherous you were in taking me here to the vet When we get home I will remember all the things you said And I will leave a little present for you in your bed |

you don't even want to know what a pathetic mess my dogs are when they have to go to the vet. One has to wear a muzzle and she sticks her tongue out the entire time! I feel so bad for her but it's really hysterical.... this was SO cute!! |

Oh, Stephen, you bet he won't forget!! This is a classical scene and you presented it in such a funny way. I enjoyed it much. ... now if I only succeeded in putting my cat into the cat carrier to maintain the appointment with the vet!! She transforms into a tiger and it takes a collaboration of at least three people to succeed and there is a high risk of being injured in the process ... They just know and read our thoughts, no way to cheat on them. Thank you for the smiles. Love, Margherita |

I'd bet he'd "Forget The Vet" if he could! But alas, our pets have to obey the hands that feed them! Our little "Angel" becomes a wildcat when she has to go into the carrier. She knows what's up ~ and she wants no part of it! Enjoyed your poem as I do all of them! Linda |

Y'know, I was going to take issue with the title [media being what it is...] and then I had the greatest laugh. Thanks, Steve! |

Well, this is one poem that I won't share with my dogs. So clever. Mine still like the vet (even the male dog because he has a tv in his waiting room and -- well, Stuart - like many males I know - can not resist a tv!). Thank you for making me laugh. A |

As a frequent visitor to the vet I can truly appreciate this poem and find it hillarious. I can't say I blame our furry little friends, I'm sure there must be a similar picture of me (at the doctor's office)out there somewhere. Ida |

Enjoyed this madly, Steve, and chortled all the way through. Love the photo as well, of course! All who read my response, plesae give all your furry babies lots of hugs and kisses from Auntie Di (I think they may be afraid of my beak and my talons if you call me Owl, to them). - Owl |

Hahaha! This is another winner. My friend had a sick kitty and had to feed her with IV. When she was sick she took it oh so quietly. When she was well she left a puddle in the middle of her bed. Now she is locked out of the bedroom. Oh! Our furry friends do remember. Hugs BonBon |

Steve, Yes, that's the way they are about Vets. My dog is big and very strong. She once dragged me down the Vet's stairs trying to get away. The Vet was very concerned for my health. The dog was fine, and I recovered well. Bobby |
