Hold me in Uncertainty…and comfort found in the Doubt of your caress. |

Eric - I guess there's always comfort in a caress but perhaps the secret is not to doubt it to truly benefit. I'm just not too sure what you're actually saying here but you say it well never the less. Helen |

Hi Helen, thank you for the reply and kind words! Just about everyone of my poems deals with our relationship to God, although I often use romantic idealism as a more intimate example. It would be nice if we never doubted both God's caress or the caress of a lover - doubt is part of illusion of ego love, however if we can love fully within the uncertainity of anything that is not truly of God -doubt becomes a path that leads us home. The Sufi poets exclaim that it is the very longing for the Beloved, our cries for love that is our connection to love, to God. So when we rest in the uncertainty of a caress...even doubt becomes a lovers touch. Love, Eric |

Dear Eric, Thank you so much. Yes, I understand now and think the Sufi poets (and you) are quite correct. I still have lots of thinking to do but the connection to love and what it does has been made apparent to me and I'm grateful for that. I do slip into doubt every now and again even though I know it's a stupid thing to do. When I'm "human" I hear the roar of the motorway and the birds but when I'm love I only hear the birds. This isn't the first time you've "helped me" and I really do appreciate it. Thank you. Love Helen |

EricC~ Hello dear poet~ I greatly enjoyed the all of your penning~ BUT - I found THIS to be soooooo rewarding to absorb - ' when we rest in the uncertainty of a caress...even doubt becomes a lovers touch.' Have a beautiful day ... and an even better tomorrow~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |
