Little Caribou Little caribou, just what do you see as I peek at you and you peek at me? I see you hide behind bushes of green, then looking out with curiosity keen. Little caribou, where will you next go? Will you find a patch of cold, icy snow? You might nap together under the sun and find some relief from mosquito’s hum. Little caribou, you are a surprise I had fun playing our game of “I Spy” Be careful of bear; they’re over the hill You’d be perfect lunch on which they could fill. Little Caribou, goodbye for today If we meet again, I would love to play. Thank you for sharing your playtime with me and for your gift of curiosity. --- Alison |

I agree, Alison. I live near a very large cemetary that is full of wild life including many deer. We often take the kids up there to see the deer, who are so tame they will walk right up to the car. Ida |

Alison. What gentleness and tenderness is in here. It is very obvious that you have a profound reverence and respect for the miracle of life, and for it's fragile beauty ... and your desire to nurture the miracle of life comes ringing through. It's like you say, the natural world is a kind of cathedral, and your poem an articulation of your religious faith, an expression of the love you bare within. What a beautiful and tender person you must be inside, Ali, and I am so happy I am beginning to know you! ... And you know what? There is something gone awry with the plumbing in the building and the drains are backing up ... so they are telling us not to run the water. Pooh! Jaime Jaime |

what a lovely photo.-image to match this pleasant 'penning'! I am especially fond of the ending: "Little Caribou, goodbye for today If we meet again, I would love to play. Thank you for sharing your playtime with me and for your gift of curiosity(!)" applause!! |

OH, Ali! They are adorable! Thank you for sharing them with us. I had two 'adopted' moose in Alaska when an ignorant hunter/tourist shot their mom. My daughter and I named them Moosatchi and Willow, and they never strayed far from our cabin. This brought back memories of those two youngsters. |

Alison, love the pic, the poem, and you! Now please be careful of those bears the next time that you play Caribou-Hide-and-Seek! I wouldn't want you to become a tasty treat for one of them! Oh, no! That would never do! Love Linda xo |

Alison, you have such a sweet and tender soul, I just popped in to see your reply to my poem desire, and I wish to thank you, deeply it touched me. I wrote the disclaimer at the bottom of my poem because one of my poems as of late, was too mature for open and was pulled by the moderators ...thus it is no more than kids, teens, etc. see on modern day tv. I myself do not watch soap operas either, if you ever need anything "darling" I am just an email away...my heart is always open to you! |
