Phoenix Rising

The Shadow in Blue

Like a phoenix I rise
from the ashes of my past,
unburdened and uplifted,
taking flight once again

Enveloped in an eternal light
I soar above the clouds,
carefree and vibrantly,
dipping and diving with ease

Riding on the crest
of my revitalized spirit
I circle regally, with pride
landing on the mountainside

Preening and primping
for my succeeding flight,
I overlook the canopy
of my once stormy sky

Smiling inwardly
I croon my soul song
reaffirmed and reassured
of the strength within myself
