“Why feather-me-tickle,” the wise man sat as his goose was cooking in his rubber hat; No mention did he make of the milk that spilled, Oh feather-me-tickle, inner-willed. The water in the pot had been fit for stew but oiled by her feathers, the goosie flew; “Oh toss-my-floss from teeth to sky, Fly me a kite on string dream-high!” “Oh toss-my-floss and feather-me-tickle Rain can fall, but tidings we trickle!" Lost in a cloud nine silvers high A full-of-a-man with geese does fly. ~misc~ Sounds a little crazy, doesn't it? Well... what can I say? A lot of thought went into this - there's more to it than meets the eye! Enjoy the dig. [This message has been edited by miscellanea (07-30-2008 09:10 AM).] |

You know, misc, I am loving your poetry. I can tell that a lot of thought go into them and I end up wishing that I had written them. Wonderful poetry and play on expressions. May I keep it forever? Alison |

"You know, misc, I am loving your poetry. I can tell that a lot of thought go into them and I end up wishing that I had written them. Wonderful poetry and play on expressions. May I keep it forever?" Alison, You flatter me. "More, more!" No, just kidding. I'm not around here as much as I'd like, but occasionally I flit it and read a poem or two. I have read your lyrical poetry, finding I am the one to envy your vocabulary and grace with words, wishing that I could express myself as you do, also saying to myself, "Gee, I wish I'd written that!" Thank you so much for your kindness. "And, Yes, by all means, keep it! Those feathers, quills and giggles get us through a lot. Enjoy! ~misc~ |

Misc, Even when I don't understand half the phrases that you have typed onto the screen, I still find myself imagining the dreams, and wanting more. |

What a pickle, to be afflicted by a tickle, and whether by fingers of a feather (I’m not sure which is better, Or if one might be worse, But let it not adversely affect my verse) I must begin by saying I am a bit chicken to have either when I’d prefer certainly neither, for giggling loose would Shirley cook my goose, Oh Mother the giggling bother that giggling devolving to jiggling of my belly like a Bowl Full of Jelly gives me pause ain’t there a Santa-ty Clause? Just another Smear my body up with butter to give rain quick access to the drain, cloud nine where do I your silver find; to the tickle that turns my humor fickle. |

Arctic Wind, Your response brings back some of the lyrics of an old camp song: Skinny Scanny, he sells socks, A nickel a dollar, a dollar a box, The longer you wear them the shorter they get and you put them in the water and they don't get wet. (Here comes my favorite part Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy Be silly and gay the whole day long Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy! Words to live by! Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for your response! ~misc |

Lady Ayla, I'm so glad that the words pleased you and took you into a world of imagination! When I wrote it, I didn't expect people to understand it; I wrote it more as my declaration that a person doesn't have to become a negative person even though surrounded by negativity. I disguised most of the meaning through humor intentionally so that it wouldn't bring people down, including myself. It is supposed to be up-lifting. If I can, I'll try to explain some of the thoughts I had when I wrote it. ~~~~~~~~~ Why feather-me-tickle,” the wise man sat as his goose was cooking in his rubber hat; No mention did he make of the milk that spilled, Oh feather-me-tickle, inner-willed. (the goose symbolizes the odd addage, "he cooked his goose". In the poem, someone had cooked their goose, or rather, ruined their image. The old man responds 'feather-me-tickle' because he will not indulge in the negativity of crying everytime something happens such as crying over a glass of spilt milk. ********************************************* (The goose is cooked in a rubber pot... Why rubber? Firstly, a rubber pot wouldn't allow the temperature to really hurt the goose. Also, I choose the word, rubber, to show the need for expansion and flexibiliy. Both the man and the goose needed to grow in the flexibility of things like humor. ) **************************************** (next verse) The water in the pot had been fit for stew but oiled by her feathers, the goosie flew; “Oh toss-my-floss from teeth to sky, Fly me a kite on string dream-high!” (Although in a stewing situation of water, geese have the ability to stay afloat because of the oil on their feathers. If afloat in a pot of hot water, why not just fly away from that problem and hold onto dreams and ideals tightly? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Oh toss-my-floss and feather-me-tickle Rain can fall, but tidings we trickle!" Lost in a cloud nine silvers high A full-of-a-man with geese does fly. (Basically, we can choose the silver lining to our clouds through our actions to ourselves and others.) Lady, My poem becomes your poem the minute it hits paper. It does not even have to produce a meaning. It should flit into another's mind the way it feels best to them. I only shared this because I thought it might be interesting to see the "behind the scenes" of thought that went into this. Thanks for everything, Lady Ayla. I'm glad you gave me the opportunity to write some of this down because I'm sure I'll need a refresher course on how to understand what I was writing about! ~miscellanea [This message has been edited by miscellanea (08-01-2008 01:55 AM).] |

Martie, I'm glad for words to play around, climbing up sounds and sliding right down. I'll bow with hat in thanks to you for sending a smile instead of hiss, boo! Martie, it is great to playfully rhyme with you. I hope all is well. ~hugs, miscee |

shadows singer, Whether or not a Santa-ty Claus a feather is a feather with practical cause. It keeps the bird on breeze of air Definitely, better than my rhyme right here. Sorry, I'm all rhymed out! I really enjoyed yours. I appreciate your unique response. miscellanea~ |
