Reflective Passages Infinity. Endless yesterdays joining hands with countless tomorrows. The possibilities of the future collide as a quicksilver wave with the fixed pronouncements of the irretrievable past. In the center of this random crime, the catalyst that binds dimensions immovable, a single soul called “I”… chained to what lies behind yet, positioned free with choices for days ahead, but all the while harboring a growing sense that this heart does not truly govern the cascading drama unfolding before fixed eyes. Perhaps the world moves to a different phantasm than the one captivating this mind. Maybe infinity has a life of it's own and would move the same without this present soul. Maybe "I' is as temporal as the lost yesterdays that cannot be retrieved for love or money. And perhaps the collision that crashes into this unfeeling void of space/time... ...maybe the odd element in this seemingly heartless equation... ...and maybe what is lost in the echoing backdrop of eternity... ...is "I". Brett - there's a lot of "truth" and wisdom in this poem and I, for one, enjoyed it tremendously. Helen |

Thank you so much, Hellen. I'm pleased you got to enjoy it, as it appears this poem is being knocked clean to the bottom unread, lol! ·´~`·»Brett«·´~`· |

I don't think so, Brett. This is a truly marvelous poem, very profound, and I think it deserves a chance. Sending it back to the top. Ida |

Hi Brett, a well thought and written poem goes well with the picture. You are coming with great works of poetry and great pictures to match them. Prasad. "Hardwork pays in the long run" |

What an interesting poem. I like it and one reason that I do is because it makes me think. Another reason is - it reads really well. Thank you for sharing. Alison |

quote: There are captivating "reflective passages" here, dear Brett. The "I" as ego - personality - is temporal, the higher self - the soul - is eternal, in my belief. Love, Margherita |

Thanks Diamond, and Bobby. Thank you Margherita. Yes, I also believe in an eternal self which will survive the temporal self. And it is the brevity and vanity of the helpless and oft compelled latter that I bring to question here while contemplating the personification of a purposeful eternal flow. ·´~`·»Brett«·´~`· |
