Back in the days when we were young, Beers were downed and songs were sung, We would party through the night, Then go to work at dawn's first light, A full day's work we all would do, Then off we'd go when we were through, To drink a beer and sing a song, As we would party all night long. Time has passed, we are not young, No beers are downed, no songs are sung, Except in memories of way back when, 'Cause bedtime now is half-past ten. Yeah, That's what happens, Tim. I guess that's how it's supposed to be. When you see some of these old, worn-out party animals still trying to cut it, you realize your limits. Cute poem. Ida |

Yes, great poem Tim, isn't it a wonderful thing to have all those great memories from the past but that's no reason why you still can't sing and enjoy your senior years. I'm a volunteer at a local council run place that caters for all the oldies and we have a sing-a-long nearly every week. I tell them a couple of jokes and they all laugh their heads off, yes we have great fun. Life is what you make it. Good luck my friend. Lindsay |
