Mystic forest _ 2 (color is rust) =================================== A forsaken farm cart, rust red is on an ancient plough, hum of green desert is engulfing the scenario. Ripples on the river have a slow drone. You can not break it just throwing few stones. Past civilizations have been absorbed by this forest. A forest of no reservation. “Quite un-reserved in case you find an animal and a gun.” Your friend sometimes jokes and his jokes are quite rude and raw. Of course he never knows the type of prey you may choose. You smile at the reminiscence as her body drifts through silent water. It has learned to keep its secrets in an un-reserved forest. Mystic Forest _1 =========================================== A smell that we cannot sense in our city orb creeps in, green flag of it flies, wins over our heart. “what will be available for dinner this night?” “Wild chickens if you wish.” Smiles through his busted dentures, the old caretaker of the forest lodge. “What? Tiger? Nothing that fierce.” Of course we forget The most fierce of all, us. clever talks delay friendship! |

You have a gentle but straightforward way of revealing our human weaknesses, without 'beating' us down. Good to read your insights again, poet. |

I agree with all these assessments and loved this opening for it's complimenting yet semi-contradiction of the use of "desert"--- quote: ·´~`·»Brett«·´~`· |

Dear Poddarku, Rather than a prose response, I found that your poem seemed to want a poem in response. This isn't very finished, I'm afraid, more like a first draft, but here it is. If you'd like to respond with a poem to this one, I'd love to see it. If you look closely, you'll see that it's a pretty direct response. "Vertical Integration Reaches The City" Surely future gang fights will not Find acceptance on such well behaved streets, Boulevards of fashionable table manners Incapable of coping with layers Of manners more exquisite still Find themselves littered with accidents. Nobody can explain it. The entire City rusts solid when unnamed Economists working at the University First mention vertical integration. This must be a foul idea, somebody's Poor notion of a joke!, of some Horrible unbalanced social movement. We must locate this person, Find the place where his shoes are Defiling our proud sidewalks And kill him. Somebody with nothing Better to do will be by later With an abandoned Chinese farm cart And slip that body with its Offensive ideas into the river. By then at least it will have Learned the meaning of discretion. Do not even imagine his body As it floats face down in the river Will burst into flame like sodium. —Bob Kaven |

Yo Poddarku, This is good work. I can't imagine eating a Tiger, However, I'd like to know, are they tasty, and are they eaten? Bobby |

I have to rush to work, and will come back to this. Just couldn't resist opening it when I saw your name and the title. I remember the first Mystic Forest very well. Words dance at your bidding, as always. - Owl |

I'm back, and made time to enjoy both slowly, but especially the new one. Those first few lines were very reminiscent of the use of colour in Red Wheelbarrow of William Carlos Williams. Kushal, one of the many reasons why I enjoy your poetry so much is that you are so in tune with the Universe. - Owl |
