An impression of halted time, A space emerging Somewhere in the ridges of my brain When creation is a pale saffron Neither the harsh gold of day Nor the forbidding black of night But the hue of fleeting twilight. Always The touch of colour On a threshold… And even as nature scorns human effort Light leaves the languorous arms of darkness- Lingeringly, tenderly, stealthily, Sated…yet insatiable But I the master voyeur Gazing unblinkingly At the heart-rending farewell Do not know when she left. |

wow, lovely poem about what is probably my favorite part of the day. Welcome to pip, from one's cancer eyes open! ..if that made any sense at all... "How do the angels get to sleep, when the devil leaves the porchlight on?" -- Tom Waits, 'Mr. Siegal' |

Guilt? Corridors dark as slime Encrusted with nameless fears Musty rooms With ancient sweat clogging every pore, Intrusive fingers Grasping hands, Creating gleeful shadows- An age-old performance On uneven lime-washed walls, Hushed tones, A push, a pull, a drag Memories of a void A black hole Of everything and nothing, The minute That ignorance broke its mould- Eyes shut tight, Never knowing… Never wanting to know, Of ravaged faces Behind colorful masks Dancing an unending dance. |
