Ebony awash in silver.
Sound of the world muted.
Snuggle in an old quilt,
with the cats taking half.
Drops ping off the glass
of a window usually
curtained against the
intrusion of sunlight and
abrasive reality.

Oh, wow!  I do feel and love every nuance of this!

Also, being animal-mad and wilderness-mad, I love your nom de plume too!  WolfHeart!  I almost wish I had thought of that first!

I love a rainy night, as well! Thank you for adroitly drawing me into yours!
You certainly know how to create ~ or recreate! ~ an atmosphere!

Welcome aboard the pip ship, WolfHeart! It is
apparent to me already that you will be a valued member of our family of kindred poet spirits!

Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug,

this needs to go back up...anything that starts out with a phrase like:

"Ebony awash in silver"  ...deserves a second read

How soothing! The rain does "mute" the "abrasive reality" of the world. Thanks for the great write.

I'm happy to meet you and read you for the first time. You have captured that moment of quiet serenity in the presence of soothing rain. Your poem exudes a sense of the spiritual in such moments.

Thanks for sharing ---

I love rain. Maybe it's partly because it rained the day I was born.
Lovely write, and it's a pleasure to meet you!
I'll look for more from your quill.

There's a song by the same title and it's a good one like the mood of this little piece.
