that day,
motivation flooded my
consciousness, jump-starting
a weary soul
ransacked by 24/7 lethargy.

I AM SO GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD!

it teasingly disappeared, leaving
me
trapped in inert slumber

In so much as you change the world for one person, you have changed the dynamics of the world - and you have changed the world for far more than one, Heng. Many of your students will attest to that - even ones who have not changed outwardly, but have changed inwardly, or are contemplating changing or developing or growing in any way whatsoever, as a result of something you have said or done.

I love your poem.
